Serenity Pet Spa is a full-service Madison dog grooming salon. We provide compassionate and thorough care for dogs. As an employee of Serenity Pet Spa, you will be required to groom and care for our client’s pets with an exceptional level of care and quality.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Pet Stylist position requires previous skills or experience. Whatever your level of experience, we will work with you to continue refining your craft and advance your career as a dog groomer.
Your duties will include grooming and styling dogs on your schedule after they are prepped. Bathers handle all prep work and the Front Desk handles all scheduling. This job requires heavy lifting, standing, and moving around. All employees of Serenity Pet Spa are expected and encouraged to share their knowledge and work as a team to provide the best treatment to animals in our care. Mentoring and teaching others is a pivotal part of the success of the entire salon.
You'll be required to:

Groom pets with a high understanding of breed cuts, conformation, temperament, and safety

Constantly ensure the safety and well-being of each pet, handling each pet with skill and care

Consult with customers and attempt to comply with all requests to ensure customer satisfaction

Interact with customers in a warm and friendly manner

Have detailed knowledge of all products the salon offers and be able to descibe any service/add-on to clients in a clear and professional manner

Complete grooms in a timely manner (most dogs are expected to be done within a 4 hour timeframe except giant breeds and overgrown/matted pets) - if a dog will take longer than expected, steps should be taken to ensure the day does not run behind (i.e. rescheduling dogs or asking for help)

Arrive to work in uniform and ready to groom

Maintain clear and concise notes on all grooms as well as special needs of clients or pets

Keep station clean and organized and maintain equipment

On occasion, Serenity Pet Spa participates in events outside of the salon to promote the business and support growth. No compensation will be given for attendance to these events. They are intended to bring in new clientele and it is in your best interest to attend whenever possible.
Serenity Pet Spa supports stylists in becoming certified and will provide guidance and testing to ensure you pass with the NDGAA to become a Nationally Certified Master Groomer. We also encourage you to compete in national competitions and offer a stipend to do so.
